The Basilica di Santa Croce is a beautiful, large Franciscan church dating back more than 500 years. Florence's Basilica di Santa Croce facade consists of colourful marble in a geometric pattern and contains many interesting features, including a Gothic interior in the shape of a cross, impressive frescoes by artists including Giotto, two sculptures by Donatello and a highly regarded octagonal marble pulpit created by Benedetto da Maiano.
