The Mugello region of Italy is located to the north-east of Florence and contains some of the most unique villages in Tuscany. Attractions in and around the Mugello region include the Montesenario Convent and the wine town of Rufina, which has an interesting viticulture museum.
Mugello is a particularly attractive village and is popular with walkers, trekkers, horse riders and also climbers. Other attractions in the Mugello region, nearby Florence, include a giant statue of the mountain god Appennino - created in 1580, a large valley full of vineyards, and the River Sieve, a popular spot for canoeing in Tuscany.
