The Basilica di San Lorenzo was designed and constructed by Brunelleschi between 1419 and 1469. Florence's San Lorenzo Basilica is widely regarded as one of the purest Renaissance churches in Florence and was the very first church in this style to be built in Florence.
The eastern facade of Florence's Basilica di San Lorenzo has no decoration and the antique brickwork is clearly visible, although inside there is plenty to admire. Attractions at the Basilica di San Lorenzo, in Florence, include bronze pulpits designed by Donatello, who is buried in one of the chapels, a simply stunning staircase built by Michelangelo in the Laurenziana Library and the richly decorated Medici Chapels.
